A team from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) has achieved a remarkable success by becoming Champion at I4N × INNOVENTURE Bangladesh 2026, organized by the Bangladesh Youth Nuclear Congress (BYNC).

The event was held on 8 August 2026 at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). The programme featured technical presentations, poster presentations, project presentations, and a prize-giving ceremony, bringing together young researchers and innovators working in diverse areas of nuclear technology, energy, artificial intelligence, robotics, materials, and environmental applications.
The AUST team participated in the Materials & Environment category with their project titled “Simulation of Broadband SC Source for Early Detection of Explosives & Hazardous Gases.” The project was presented as Poster P0010 by Md. Nazmus Shakib, Ehsan Mahmud Sourav, and Md. Ariful Islam. The project was carried out as a Final Year Design Project (FYDP) under the supervision of Dr. Shah Md. Salimullah, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), AUST. The project demonstrates the application of advanced photonics and optical sensing concepts toward the early detection of explosives and hazardous gases.

The event commenced with an opening ceremony attended by distinguished guests, including Professor Md. Ali Zulquarnain, Former Chairman of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission; Ms. Alexandra Khlevnoy, Director, Russian House in Dhaka; and Dr. Syed Mohammad Hossain, Director, Planning & Development, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission. The programme concluded with a closing ceremony and prize-giving session attended by Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, AIUB, along with distinguished guests including Dr. Ijaz Hossain, Former Dean, Faculty of Engineering, BUET, and representatives from academia and industry.
The achievement is particularly noteworthy as the poster competition featured 54 poster presentations. The AUST team's work was evaluated under Scope 3 – Materials & Environment by a distinguished jury comprising Dr. Humayra Ferdous, Associate Professor, AIUB; Dr. Md. Sarowar Hossain, Assistant Professor, AIUB; and Fahim Sabab Siddique, Lecturer, Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST). This outstanding achievement reflects the research capability, creativity, technical competence, and innovative spirit of AUST students. It also highlights the university's continued commitment to promoting research-oriented education and encouraging students to develop innovative solutions to real-world technological challenges.
