Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) organized a seminar on "Quality Assurance in UK on Higher Education (Insider's experience for Taught Programs)" in front of a good number of audiences in the seminar hall at AUST on 13 January 2013.

Dr. R.G.M. Hasan, Faculty of Engineering & Environment, Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK presented a very informative presentation on the topic highlighting many contemporary issues and perspectives. The keynote speaker, Mr. Reaz Hasan, mentioned that there is huge scope of scholarship in overseas countries in the area of engineering especially in Mechanical and production Engineering.

This seminar was arranged by the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering (MPE), AUST.  It mainly belonged to three objectives: (1) To understand and discuss about the Quality assurance techniques in UK. (2) To evaluate our own quality assurance policies in comparison with those of UK. (3).To make plan for better quality assurance policies for this institution in coming days.

Professor Dr. A. M. M. Safiullah, Vice-Chancellor of AUST graced the occasion as Chief Guest while Prof. Dr. M. H. Khan, Founder Vice-Chancellor of AUST presided over the program. On the seminar, the Heads of various departments along with faculty members and huge number of students were present there.

Vice-Chancellor Safiullah shared his views regarding higher education in abroad and thanked to the keynote speaker for his excellent and valuable presentation at AUST. At the end, Prof. Dr. M. H. Khan made some thoughtful comments on the education system in Bangladesh and abroad focusing different aspects of our educational problems and procedure comparing the educational system in developed countries. Finally, he declared the closure with thanks to the speakers, faculty members and students who had attended the seminar.
