The Society of Fiber Science, Bangladesh (SFSB) was inaugurated on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 in the Prof. M. H. Khan Auditorium of the Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) hosted by the Department of Textile Engineering, AUST. Prof. Takeshi Kikutani, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan was present in in inauguration ceremony as the Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fazli Ilahi, Vice-Chancellor, AUST, Prof. Midori Takasaki, Kyoto Institute of Technology, Japan, and Prof. Dr. Md. Mustafizur Rahman, Treasurer, AUST were present in inauguration ceremony as the special Guests.

A Seminar on Recent and Advanced Fiber and Polymer Materials was then held at the same venue in the afternoon by SFSB and DTE, AUST. Engr. Md. Mozaffar Hossain, MP was present in the seminar as the Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman, Pro Vice-Chancellor, AUST was present in the seminar as the Guest of Honor. Prof. Dr. M. A. Barique, Shizuoka University, Japan (president, SFSB) was present as a chair of both the sessions. Prof. Dr. Lal Mohan Baral, Head, Department of Textile Engineering, AUST delivered the welcome speech.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fazli Ilahi, Vice-Chancellor and Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman, Pro Vice-Chancellor enthusiastically contributed to the discussion by sharing their insightful remarks in the seminar.

All distinguished Guests, all teachers, officers of the Textile Engineering Department were present at the seminar.
