A team of experts from Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation (ROSATAM) visited Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) on 14 June 2012. The team met the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. M. M. Safiullah , Dean of Faculties and Heads of various Departments of AUST. The team discussed on issues related to development of nuclear workforce in Bangladesh for the nuclear sector and establishment of bilateral cooperation in this field between leading universities, institutes and colleges of both the countries. AUST Vice-Chancellor made a brief presentation on various courses offered and facilities available at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology. The visiting team members also visited different laboratories of the University.

The Visiting team described about institutional facilities available in Russia and in particular at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. Discussion was also made on possible collaboration with Russian Universities with AUST. Mr. Valery Karezin, Director, Educatinal Projects, ROSATOM along with Mr. Alexander P. Demin, First Secretary & Head of the Cultural Department, Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bangladesh and Mr. Maxim Basak, Second Secretary, Embassy of Russian Federation were in the visiting team.
