IEOM Society AUST Student Chapter and IMechE AUST Student Chapter, along with Bangladesh Industrial and Technical Assistance Centre (BITAC) brought out a grand seminar titled “Necessity of Quality Issues and Entrepreneurial Mindset in Manufacturing Industries”. BITAC is an autonomous government body and research centre that researches ways to improve production and provide technical knowledge and is located in Dhaka. It is part of a Bangladesh government strategy to support small middle enterprise.

The following seminar was held on March 17, 2023, at the VC Seminar Hall of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST). The seminar started at 3:00 PM and ended at 6:00 PM. The keynote speakers were Dr. Engr. Syed Muhammad Ihsanul Karim, Director (Head Office), BITAC, Dr. Engr. Md Mazharul Habib, Additional Director (Training), BITAC, and Engr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Additional Director (TTI), BITAC. Besides, the title itself explains its connection rooted deep in curricular studies. The speakers shared their knowledge from their field experience which helped all the participants during the seminar and to build their career in this sector.

It was a very insightful and interactive session as well. Firstly, Dr. Engr. Md Mazharul Habib, started with the session and shared his knowledge and gave a broader and well conducted presentation on Total Quality Management (TQM). He shared his tales and helped audiences relate more to the key information he was delivering. Secondly, Engr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam gave a career talk and his journey over at BITAC, also surmising the aspects of TTI and finishing up by sharing valuable knowledge on how to work accordingly to achieve success ensuring quality and quantitative education and knowledge. Finally, Dr. Engr. Syed Muhammad Ihsanul Karim, ended with an open discussion and gave out insights on BITAC, the work aspects, the prospects. Furthermore, a few questions were taken from the audience which was answered graciously by all the respected speakers accordingly.
