Seminar on - 'Leading by Examples', by Architect Mohammad Foyez Ullah


Mohammad Foyez Ullah is one of the foremost architects of Bangladesh, who already established himself as an individual identity in the architectural discipline. From academics to the corporate realm, Ar. Foyez is equally travelling with his inspiring personality and motivation. This successful icon of Bangladeshi architecture was the key speaker in the seminar titled 'Leading by Examples', held on 15th of July, 2017 at Prof. M.H. Khan Auditorium, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology.

Dr. Shehzad Zahir introduced and welcomed Ar. Md. Foyez Ullah in a houseful festive environment. Ar. Foyez started the speech stating his source of motivation for such a great achievement. He nicely depicted how the dream for architecture drive him from very early life and his dedication, sincerity, commitment to achieve that target. Always eager to build an identity, he proved that his unique works, context oriented outcomes, beauty in the simplicity has strongly established that identity in the profession. Among his large volume of works, he highlighted some of his projects, such as GP House, Bashundhara city, The Westin, Simple Tree Anarkoli, International Convention Center and many more to set examples for the future architects which was a good justice to the title of the seminar.

This lecture was very inspiring for the young audiences', particularly the future architects and students. In such motivative speech, Ar. Foyez Ullah suggested the young professionals to search for philosophy of great persons holistically and enlighten themselves with that power. He also inspired the audiences to explore their own capability and flourish that to fit for the profession. 

The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Jasmin Ara Begum, Head Department of Architecture, AUST. The seminar was blessed with the presence of Prof. Dr. M.H. Khan, Founder Vice Chancellor AUST as Chief Guest. The hall was full with the presence of Treasurer of AUST Prof. Dr. Kazi Shariful Alam, Heads and faculty of different departments of AUST, students from in and outside of the school, alumni, architects and professionals. At last, the program was wrapped up with crest handover by Prof. Dr. M.H. Khan to the speaker Ar. Foyez Ullah in a big crowd of hall. Finally, Chairperson Prof Jasmin Ara Begum gave the vote of thanks in her concluding speech.

This successful program was arranged by 'Seminar & Workshop Organizing Committee', Department of Architecture of AUST, where the Convener was Dr. Shehzad Zahir and Members were Ar. Maher Niger, Ar. Jayedi Aman, Ar. Naimul Aziz, Ar. Ayasha Siddiqua, Ar. Sheikh Rishad Ahmmad, Ar. Zannatul Ferdous, Ar. Zishan F. Chowdhury and Ar. Moshfequa Ifat. The seminar was generously sponsored by 'Shah Cement', one of the largest cement producing industries in Bangladesh.
