Three AUST EEE Teams Secure Top 10 Positions at VLSITHON 3.0, Including 1st Runner-Up

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), is proud to announce the remarkable achievement of its students at VLSITHON 3.0, a nationwide chip design competition organized by ULKASEMI Pvt. Limited. Among 106 participating teams comprising 206 students from more than 30 universities across Bangladesh, three teams from the Department of EEE secured positions in the Top 10, demonstrating exceptional technical competence, innovation, and dedication in the field of VLSI and Physical Design.

The Department is especially proud to congratulate Team Voltix — Mehedi Karim Utsho and S. M. Moin Haque (Chayon) — for securing the position of 1st Runner-Up. The Department also extends sincere congratulations to the two other AUST teams that achieved Top 10 positions: Team Photon (Syed Mohtasim Alam and Nafisa Ahmed) and Team Skills Issue (Md. Al Noman Ruhin and Taslim Amin).

VLSITHON 3.0, recognized as one of the country's largest chip design competitions, focused this year on the Place and Route (PnR) domain, one of the most in-demand areas of the semiconductor industry. Following a training phase of seminars and workshops, the top 10 teams were selected through theoretical examinations and assessments using Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, after which the final standings were determined through presentation rounds.

The success of all three teams on a national platform reflects the strong technical foundation, perseverance, and innovative spirit of the AUST EEE community, and is a matter of great pride for the Department and the University. The Department of EEE extends its heartiest congratulations to all the participants for this outstanding accomplishment and wishes them continued success in their future endeavours in VLSI, semiconductor technology, and beyond.
