“Team AquaVanguard” from AUST Crowned Champions at Youth-led Green and Digital Transformation Event

A stellar team from the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE) at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) has clinched the Championship title at the prestigious Youth-led Action Research on Green and Digital Transformation and PITCH | PROPEL | PROSPER event, organized by SustainLaunch Lab in partnership with ActionAid.

As part of their victory, the team was awarded a grant of BDT 92,500 to support the further development and implementation of their project.

Engineered with sustainability, digital inclusion, and community impact in mind, the bed doubles as a secure sleeping platform and a floating rescue device. It features rowable handles, trolley wheels, an inflatable mattress (with both electric and manual pumps), a mosquito net, and an RFID-based tracking system to support effective disaster response and relief efforts.

The team’s solution stood out for its:

  • Climate-resilient design
  • Sustainable and user-centric engineering
  • Digital integration for real-time tracking
  • Strong alignment with local community needs

The competition's evaluation criteria included research depth, innovation, scalability, and practical community impact — all areas in which Team AquaVanguard excelled.

Team Members:

  • Nusrat Jahan Nitu
  • Shahriar Rifat
  • Md. Abdullah Al Noman
  • Nafiz Ahmed

Supervised by:
