Career Talk: Expectations from Employers


A seminar titled "Career Talk: Expectations from Employers" was held on 28th May, 2023 in the seminar hall of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST). Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fazli Ilahi, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, AUST; Mr. Mohammad Zahirul Islam, PMP, Managing Director, Dhaka Thai Limited; Prof. Dr. Saleh Md. Mashehdul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business and Social Sciences; Prof. Dr. S.M. Shafiul Alam, Head, School of Business (SoB) and other faculty members of SoB as well as the students of SoB attended the event. Prof. Dr. Saleh Md. Mashehdul Islam started the seminar with welcome speech. The keynote speaker was Mr. Mohammad Zahirul Islam, PMP. Mr. Islam is serving as the Managing Director of Dhaka Thai Limited, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He started his career as Consultant of Modis Inc., USA in 1998. He also worked at several companies in different roles.

He focused on key skills that students have to develop for preparing themselves for the job market. He also emphasized on tips and tricks of excellent performance in interview. Furthermore, Mr. Islam gave some ideas regarding the career development through achieving professional degrees and continuous learning process to cope with the changing market needs. The Honorable VC actively contributed to the discussion by offering his insightful observations in the seminar. In the end, Prof. Dr. S.M. Shafiul Alam concluded the session by expressing his gratitude to all who were involved in organizing the session.
