The AUST Civil Engineering Society (ACES), in collaboration with Ekattik 48, organized a seminar titled “Innovations in Construction Chemicals for Sustainable Infrastructure” on March 31, 2026, in the Seminar Room of the Honorable Vice Chancellor, AUST. The seminar introduced Engr. Debashis Barua, Managing Director of Fairmate Chemicals BD Ltd., as the keynote speaker. The event brought together students and faculty members to explore recent advancements in construction chemicals and their role in developing sustainable infrastructure. During his presentation, Engr. Barua discussed the importance of construction chemicals in enhancing the strength, durability, and performance of modern structures. He highlighted various innovative products and technologies, including concrete admixtures, waterproofing systems, repair and rehabilitation materials, and protective coatings, emphasizing their contributions to improving construction quality and extending the service life of infrastructure. The speaker also addressed the growing need for sustainable construction practices and explained how advanced chemical solutions can help reduce environmental impacts while increasing efficiency and cost-effectiveness. An interactive question-and-answer session followed the presentation, allowing participants to engage directly with the speaker and gain valuable industry insights. The seminar served as an excellent platform for knowledge sharing and industry-academia interaction, enriching participants’ understanding of modern construction technologies.
