The Orientation Program, Fall 2022


The Civil Engineering Department held its orientation program on May 6, 2023, in room 2A06. The event was attended by the newly admitted students, faculty members, and students' guardians. The program began with a welcome address from the head of the department, Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury. He congratulated the students on their admission to the program and welcomed them to the department. Dr. Chowdhury then gave a brief overview of the department, including its history, mission, and goals. All the faculty members of the Department were present to extend their greetings to the freshers. The program commenced with a comprehensive presentation on the department, introducing the esteemed faculty members and staff. The students were also familiarized with the locations and facilities of the laboratories through a projector screen display. After Dr. Chowdhury's address, Prof. Dr. Md. Mahmudur Rahman gave a presentation on the department's rules and regulations, as well as its grading system. Subsequently, Prof. Dr. Md. Shahid Mamun, Prof. Dr. M Mirjahan Miah ,Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Matin, respected professors of the Department, delivered their insightful speeches to the freshers. They stressed the importance of hard work, dedication, and teamwork. They also spoke about the importance of ethics and professionalism in the engineering profession.

The program concluded with a question-and-answer session. The students were able to ask the professors any questions they had about the department or the Engineering profession. After the orientation program, the faculty members and staff met with the students' guardians in room 2A05. They exchanged greetings and answered any questions that the guardians had.

The orientation program was a valuable opportunity for the newly admitted students to learn more about the Civil Engineering Department and the Engineering profession. The program also provided the students with an opportunity to meet the faculty members and staff and to ask any questions they had. The Department of Civil Engineering is committed to providing its students with the best possible education. The orientation program is just one of the many ways that the department is working to achieve this goal.
