Capital Market Workshop at Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM)

The students of the BBA Program, School of Business, AUST, successfully participated in the “Investment in Capital Market” workshop at BICM on 29 July 2026, accompanied by Dr. Naznin Sultana Chaity, Associate Professor; Md. Mahfujur Rahman, Assistant Professor; and Md. Amirul Islam, Lecturer, from SoB, AUST. The workshop provided an excellent platform for students to gain practical knowledge of investment, securities trading and capital market dynamics, complementing their academic learning with real-world exposure.

The workshop provided students with an opportunity to connect theoretical concepts learned in their academic courses with real-life practices. Through expert-led discussions and practical demonstrations, the participants gained valuable insights into the fundamentals of the capital market, investment mechanisms, securities trading processes, market operations, and the factors that influence investment decisions. The session also helped students appreciate the importance of informed decision-making, risk awareness, financial discipline, and responsible participation in the capital market.

For Finance-major students in particular, such industry-oriented learning experiences are highly valuable. Classroom discussions on financial markets, investment analysis, securities, risk-return relationships, and portfolio decisions become more meaningful when students can observe how these concepts are applied in an actual professional environment. The workshop therefore served as an effective bridge between academic learning and practical knowledge, enabling students to gain a broader perspective on the opportunities and challenges of Bangladesh’s capital market.

The event also created an interactive learning environment where students could engage with professionals, ask questions, exchange views, and enhance their understanding of the investment ecosystem. Such exposure is expected to strengthen their analytical ability, financial literacy, and confidence while preparing them for future careers in banking, investment, brokerage, asset management, financial analysis, and other related fields.
