Mechanical and Production Engineering

In order to obtain hands-on experience in the field, a group of students from the 4^th year, 1^st semester, IPE program of the MPE department of AUST visited Nestle Bangladesh Limited Factory on 1^st November of 2022 for a month industrial attachment. The undergraduate students learned a lot from the experience, such as-

• Production process of different SQ of Nestle Bangladesh; Nido Plant, Cereal Plant (Cerelec), Lactogene Plant, Coffee Plant, PPP Plant, Noodle Plant (Maggi).
• Different projects based on optimization using process capability are done successfully for lactogen plant.
• How planning is done based on forecasted demand considering all the factors like machine availability, manpower availability, day off, planned maintenance, breakdown constrain, quality assurance etc.
• How warehouse management works. Also, about inventory management, process of dispatching finished goods etc.

They have optimized temperature control room of warehouse of Nestle Bangladesh. Finally, they have proposed a new optimized design for Doc to reduce idle time, manpower and increase efficiency.
