Students from 3rd year 1st semester developed “LoadLifter” as a project in Product Design and Development Sessional


The “Loadlifter” is a versatile lifting solution designed for safe and stable transportation of wheelchair patients and various heavy loads in healthcare and industrial settings. Powered by a 220V single-phase 2hp AC motor operating at 1400 RPM. It ensures smooth and controlled lifting for enhanced safety and efficiency. The system is equipped with two limit switches - one positioned at the desired height to stop at a preset level and another at the bottom for a secure landing.

During our testing phase, the Loadlifter successfully lifted two individuals, establishing an average lifting capacity of approximately 140 kg. Additionally, it can securely lift a wheelchair patient with a total weight capacity of around 120 kg, as well as other heavy loads within the same range. To ensure maximum safety, an anti-slip floor has been integrated, providing a stable and secure platform for both wheelchair users and other loads. Furthermore, in case of a power failure, the Loadlifter is designed to stop at its current height, preventing unexpected movements while lifting up or coming down.

With its strong construction, reliable motor and advanced safety features, the Loadlifter serves as an efficient, secure and multi-purpose lifting solution for both medical and industrial applications.
