Industrial Visit at Meghna Petroleum Limited


On 16th February 2023, the students of 4th year, 2nd semester of IPE program of the MPE Department along with their faculty members visited the Meghna Petroleum Limited in Chattogram. It was an insightful opportunity to understand the operations and functions of one of the leading petroleum companies in the country. The visit was aimed at providing students with an understanding of the company’s business model, production processes, and supply chain management.

The visit started with an informative presentation by the company’s top management, which highlighted the company’s history, organizational structure, and various products and services offered by the company. The presentation was followed by a guided tour of the company’s production plant, where the students witnessed the entire production process, from the initial stages of refining crude oil to the final stages of packing and distribution. During the visit, the students got a chance to observe the various processes involved in the production of different petroleum products such as diesel, petrol, and lubricants. They also learned about the company’s efforts to ensure quality control and environmental sustainability in their operations.

The visit also provided an opportunity for the students to interact with the company’s personnel, including engineers, technicians, and managers, who shared their experiences and expertise with the students. The company’s personnel also answered various questions posed by the students, which provided them with a better understanding of the various challenges faced by the petroleum industry.

In conclusion, the visit to Meghna Petroleum Limited was a highly enriching experience that provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the petroleum industry’s operations and challenges. In addition, it was an opportunity for the students to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, enhancing their learning experience. Overall, the visit was a great success, and the students gained valuable insights that will be useful in their future careers.
