The Department of Architecture at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) proudly celebrated its remarkable 30-year journey of architectural education, creativity, friendship, and achievement through a series of commemorative programs. Among the highlights of the celebration was a vibrant cultural evening titled “Reliving Golden Moments,” which brought together generations of students, alumni, faculty members, and friends of the department through a shared celebration of memories, music, and performance.

The evening commenced with a visual journey through the department's rich history, featuring a slideshow titled “30 Years of Architectural Legacy.” The presentation showcased archival photographs, significant milestones, and glimpses of student life spanning three decades, setting the tone for an evening dedicated to remembering the past while celebrating the present.

The program continued with “Voices from the Past and Present,” a heartfelt memory-sharing session featuring reflections and stories from faculty members, retired teachers, and distinguished alumni. The session was conducted by Architect Shahriar Mahmud, Lecturer and an alumnus of the department. Through his thoughtful moderation, voices from different generations came together, creating a meaningful and emotional connection among those who have contributed to and experienced the remarkable journey of the Department of Architecture.

The cultural performances were thoughtfully curated into three thematic segments. The first segment, “Diving into Memory Lane,” took the audience on a nostalgic journey through cherished memories. It featured chorus performances of Anondoloke and Purano Shei Diner Kotha, a vibrant dance performance set to Pahari songs, and a recitation of “Pulu Kemon Achish,” beautifully accompanied by background music and flute. Together, these performances evoked warmth, nostalgia, and the cherished memories associated with student life and the journey of the Department of Architecture.

The second segment, “Friendship,” celebrated the lasting bonds and meaningful relationships formed throughout student life. A lively mashup performed by current students, inspired by familiar songs associated with classroom memories, brought a youthful, energetic, and vibrant spirit to the celebration.

The third segment, “Whispers of the Campus,” unfolded as another memorable chapter of the evening. One of its major highlights was a special musical performance by Shams Mansoor Ghani, a former faculty member of the department and a renowned member of the legendary band Warfaze. His performance bridges generations and reviving cherished memories through the timeless power of music. The segment also featured an energetic dance performance set to a folk song, a captivating mashup duet by Anika and Zilani, and a graceful dance performance by Nirupama and Sithi, adding further vibrancy and charm to the celebration.

The evening concluded with an electrifying performance by the department's internal band, “Kothon,” bringing together the energy and enthusiasm of the current students and ending the cultural program on a lively and celebratory note.

The entire cultural evening was gracefully hosted by recently graduated students Aditya Chowdhury and Rifa Anwar. Their vibrant presentation, enthusiasm, and engaging presence seamlessly connected the different segments and helped maintain the lively spirit of the celebration throughout the evening.

The cultural program was coordinated by Dr. Abontika Sara Israt, Convenor, and Saikha Sudah Duthi, Co-Convenor. Their dedicated efforts, careful coordination, and commitment played an important role in bringing together the performers, hosts, students, alumni, and other contributors to make the event successful and memorable.

More than just a cultural program, “Reliving Golden Moments” became a celebration of shared memories, friendship, talent, and the enduring bond that connects generations of the Department of Architecture. It provided a beautiful opportunity for alumni and current students to come together, reconnect with the department's rich history, and celebrate the journey that has shaped generations of architects.

The success of the event was ultimately the result of the dedication, creativity, countless rehearsals, teamwork, and hard work of all the performers, students, alumni, faculty members, hosts, coordinators, and volunteers. Together, they transformed the department's 30-year celebration into a memorable evening where the past was fondly remembered, the present was joyfully celebrated, and the golden memories of the Department of Architecture were brought to life once again.
