“Private universities should replicate example of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) to ensure quality and attainment of self-sufficiency through overall development,”- said H. E. Mr. Rashed Khan Menon, MP, Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education Ministry, Govt of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh  while addressing as the Chief Guest the opening ceremony of AUST ex-students’ reunion on its Tejgaon campus in the city on 05 February 2010. He further said, engineering education does not make engineers merely machines, rather they should be aware about their social responsibilities. They must have to work collectively for development of the country arousing human values. Alongside, students and engineers must uphold indigenous tradition and correct history of our Liberation War which should reflect in their activity.

While delivering address as Special Guest, AUST Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. M. Anwar Hossain said that AUST graduates would make good use of this occasion and form “AUST Alumni Society/ Association” to have a forum to develop fellowship among themselves and above all, to maintain contact with their Alma-mater. The ex-students must come forward actively and help raise their university to a higher level. They are supposed to give something back to their Alma-Mater now in return to what their Alma-Mater has given to them in the past, as is done in all the renowned private universities in the world. One day with the support and cooperation of all concerned, AUST would also become well known globally.
