10th CONVOCATION - 2018

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE GRADUATES


 

   
1.

The 10th Convocation of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) will be held on Tuesday, 09 January 2018 at 3.00 pm in the Hall of Fame, Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC), Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka.

   
2.

Graduates of Spring 2016 and Fall 2016 semesters will be entitled to participate in the 10th Convocation.

   
3.

Academic Costume will be distributed among the Registered Graduates on Sunday, 07  January 2018 (10:00am to 1:00pm & 2:00pm to 5:00pm) and Monday, 08 January 2018 (10:00am to 1:00pm) from the Exhibition & Jury Room (Room No.: 2C02) of AUST by showing the counterpart of the Registration Form.

   
4.

Convocation Rehearsal will be held in the Prof. Dr. M.H. Khan Auditorium of AUST on 08  January 2018 at 3.30pm (sharp). All faculty members and registered graduates must be present in time for rehearsal.

   
5.

All faculty members and registered graduates must reach the Convocation Venue on Tuesday, 09 January 2018 within 2.00pm for security checking and other formalities.

   
6.

One guest (parent/spouse) for each graduating student will be allowed to attend the Convocation Ceremony at the Convocation Venue. Graduates are requested to collect their Invitation Card while receiving their Academic Costume.

   
7.

Snacks packet will be distributed just after the Convocation ceremony among the guests, faculty members and graduates at the Exit gates.

   
8.

Graduates must return their Academic Costume to the authorized persons at the Convocation Venue on the same day from just after the convocation ceremony up to 5:00 pm and at the AUST campus from 5.00pm to 7:00pm on the same day (09 January 2018) and get the counterpart of the Registration Form sealed and signed by the authorized persons.

   
9.

Faculty Members and others who received Convocation Costume must ensure to return the same within 3 (three) days from the convocation date.

   
10.

There will be a Convocation Dinner at 8:00pm on the same day (09 January 2018). The Venue will be the AUST Campus. All Registered Graduates, Faculty Members and Staff of AUST will get one Dinner Card each free of cost. They may collect additional Dinner Cards (maximum two) for guests (parent/spouse) on payment of Tk. 600.00 for each card. Volunteers will check Dinner Card at the entry point or any time in the venue. None will be allowed to enter without valid Dinner Card.

   
11.

The original Certificates will be distributed among the Graduates from the Office of the Controller of Examinations (Block D, Level-5) on production of the counterpart of Convocation Registration Form with proof of returning Academic Costume, on 09 January 2018 (Time : 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm) and subsequent days (during office time).

   
12.

Provisional Certificate, if issued, must be surrendered at the time of receiving the Original Certificate.

   
13.

If the provisional certificate was not issued, then the Character Certificate from the Proctor must be produced to collect the Original Certificate.

   
14.

Graduates failing to return their academic costume within 15 January 2018 shall have to pay a fine of Tk.1,200.00 (Taka one thousand and two hundred) only.

   
15. Penalty for loss of any part of Academic Costume is as follows :
   
    a.   Each Gown                  -           Tk. 1,400.00
    b.   Each Hood                   -           Tk.    400.00
    c.   Each Cap                     -           Tk.    400.00
