General Merit List
for Architecture and Engineering programs
A general merit list
of the applicants, other than those who completed GCE O & A-level or
equivalent examinations, will be prepared based on the sum of GPA with
additional subjects in SSC and HSC or equivalent Examinations.
If more than one
applicant get the same GPA, then to determine the merit position
between them breaking the ties, one or more of the criteria listed
below will be applied in the order they are listed:
Criteria for breaking
ties : Golden 5 in both SSC and HSC**, Golden 5 in
HSC, Golden 5 in SSC, GP in HSC subjects (Math, Physics, Chemistry,
English and Bengali), GP in SSC subjects (Math, Physics, Chemistry,
English, Bengali and Higher Math), Year of passing of HSC exam, Year
of passing of SSC exam, GPA in SSC without additional subject, Date of
Birth and Application ID.
in HSC will mean Grade Point (GP) 5 in each of Math, Physics,
Chemistry, English and Bengali, and Golden 5 in SSC will mean GPA 5
without additional subject.)
General Merit List
for the BBA program :
A procedure similar
to that for Architecture and Engineering programs will be followed to
prepare the merit list for BBA program. Only difference will be in the
criteria for breaking ties. In place of GP in HSC and SSC subjects,
only GP in English of both HSC and SSC examinations will be considered.
for the Freedom Fighter and Remote & Undeveloped Area Quota :
Separate merit lists
for applicants in Freedom Fighter Quota and Remote & Undeveloped Area
Quota will be prepared on the basis of the guidelines followed for
general merit list.
Merit List for GCE O & A-Level or equivalent :
Separate merit list
of applicants who completed GCE O & A-level will be prepared based on
their equivalent GPA obtained by applying a grade conversion procedure
followed by AUST.
All the merit lists will be published in
the university website (www.aust.edu)
and displayed in AUST Notice Board. Candidates from the merit lists
will be asked to appear before the Admission Committee in order of
candidate’s merit position to give their choices of specific program
they want to pursue. THE CANDIDATES MUST
BRING THEIR APPLICATION RECEIPT AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW.
Common Message from
All applicants in the
published merit lists, applied through Teletalk SMS & Web based
system, will receive a message from Teletalk: “You must appear before
the Admission committee to give your choice of program along with your
Application Receipt. For details of interview schedule, see website (www.aust.edu)”.
Message for applicants of Freedom Fighter and Remote & Undeveloped
